Bollywood star Ranveer Singh, who impressed everyone with his act in Rohit Shetty’s Simmba, left everyone is awe of his rapping skills in the 90-second long teaser of his upcoming film, Zoya Akhtar’s Gully Boy. Rendering the track, Asli Hip Hop, the teaser sees Ranveer seamlessly slipping into his character, which is said to be loosely based on rapper Divine.
However, the popular rapper recently revealed to a leading daily that he had very less to do with Ranveer’s prolific rapping skills in Gully Boy and all credit goes to the actor for picking up every detail. "I would just hang around in the studio, while he would do his [own] thing. I didn't train him," Divine said and further gave his validation,"[He] looks so real. Of whatever I have seen so far, it seems Ranveer has given his all to this role. This is so encouraging!"
Well, that’s really impressive. Isn’t it?
Meanwhile, Divine further praised Ranveer for drawing attention to the underground rap scene with his film. "The rapping scene started in Mumbai, and a film like this one will enlighten those who aren't aware of the movement. That, in turn, will take the movement forward. I am glad that I got to see it from its [inception],” he claimed and thanked Zoya for her efforts, which are “paying dividends."
