AR Rahman is popularly known as the Mozart of Madras and has given music for many Hindi, Tamil films. He made his debut with his soulful and melodious tracks for Mani Ratnam’s film Roja in 1992 and even went on to given music for international projects as well. Among the several awards that he has won, AR Rahman has won six National Film Awards, two Academy Awards, two Grammy Awards, a BAFTA Award, a Golden Globe Award, fifteen Filmfare Awards, and seventeen Filmfare Awards South. He has also been awarded the Padma Bhushan, the third highest civilian award, in 2010 by the Government of India.
