After a blockbuster year with October and Sui Dhaaga, Varun Dhawan is all set to reunite with his dad David Dhawan for the remake of 1995 film Coolie No. 1. Several sections of the press were reporting for a while that Alia Bhatt has been cast opposite Varun in the film but new reports circulating suggest that Sara Ali Khan is also being considered for the female lead. David’s 90s hit Coolie No.1 had Govinda, Karisma Kapoor and Kader Khan in the lead roles.
Alia and Varun make for a well-loved onscreen couple ever since they made their debut in Karan Johar’s Student of the Year in 2012. The actors have worked together in three successful films, including SOTY, Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania, and Badrinath Ki Dulhania and are currently working together in Abhishek Varman’s Kalank. Now there's news that even Sara has emerged to be the frontrunner along with Alia.

Before this Sara was also being considered to star opposite Varun in Remo D'Souza dance film tentatively titled as Street Dancer but soon confirmation on Shraddha Kapoor and Nora Fatehi joining the film was announced.
Even though Alia and Varun have been one of the most hit pairs of Bollywood, Sara is more likely to make the cut as the duo will make a fresh B-town jodi. Also because Sara has time and again confessed her wish of working with Varun in a film.

Looks like we will have to wait and watch till the final announcement is made. Reportedly, Dhawans production house 'No.1' will produce the film under their home banner.
