As the country was busy paying tribute to the Indian Armed Forces on the occasion of Army Day on Wednesday, Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput, who is basking in the glory of his last release Kedarnath, took the opportunity to announce his next film. Titled Rifleman, the film narrates the story of an Indian soldier played by Sushant. In fact, the recently released motion poster certainly left his fans wanting for more since the makers did not divulge any further details on the project.
Now if a report in a leading daily is to be believed, Sushant will be portraying the role of Jaswant Singh Rawat, the famous Indian rifleman who valiantly fought the Chinese army for over 72 hours alone at the Arunachal Pradesh border during the 1962 Indo-China war. For the unversed, he also received the Maha Vir Chakra posthumously for battling against 300 enemy soldiers all by himself. It looks like another biopic is in the pipeline for Sushant after MS Dhoni: The Untold Story.

Apparently, the actor was keen on bringing Jaswant Singh Rawat's story on the silver screen. The daily quoted a source as saying, "This film has been in the works for quite some time. Sushant has been silently researching on the man and finally, now, they are putting everything in place."
Meanwhile, Rifleman is expected to go on floors after Sushant wraps up pending work on his other two films — Mukesh Chhabra's Kizie Aur Manny and Nitesh Tiwary's Chhichhore. Apart from them, the actor is awaiting the release of Sonchiriya, followed by Drive.
