It is not unknown that Happy Bhaag Jayegi fame Mudassar Aziz is directing the remake BR Chopra's 1978 romcom Pati, Patni Aur Woh, which is being produced by Juno Chopra and Abhay Chopra in collaboration with Bhushan Kumar of T-Series. While Peepingmoon.com reported last week that Kartik Aaryan, who impressed everyone with his act in Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety, had been finalised as the male lead in the film, there hasn't been much clarity on the female lead yet.
However, Taapsee Pannu, who was reportedly one of the first people to get a narration for the script, has now slammed the makers after she learnt earlier this week that she has been dropped from the film at the last minute. Expressing her disappointment, the Manmarziyaan actress told a leading daily, "I was at the narration in November, in the presence of Juno and Abhay. I liked the script and gave it the go-ahead. I was asked to clear my schedule and I complied. Only the clauses remained to be negotiated. But they suddenly vanished."

Further complaining that the film, which goes on floors next month, has sent her work plans for a toss, Taapsee maintained that she wasn't given a specific reason for being dropped and has been trying to get some clarity on the matter. "After moving my dates, I think it would have been better if I was informed about the development instead of finding out about it from others. I deserve an answer. This is disheartening," she quipped.
Stating that the entire fiasco has been an 'eye-opener' for her, Taapsee wished "good luck to whoever is going to do it."
Meanwhile, recent reports suggest that Ananya Panday, who will make her debut with Karan Johar's Student of the Year 2, has been roped in for the film and she will play the role portrayed by Ranjeeta Kaur in the original.
