Ishaan Khatter says he is not starring in the Hindi remake of Geetha Govindam

Ishaan Khatter has addressed reports of him starring in the Hindi remake of Telugu film Geetha Govindam featuring south actor Vijay Deverakonda, and said that he is not doing the film, while speaking to a daily, a leading website reports. Several quarters of the press speculated that Ishaan was reportedly approached to play the lead role in the Geetha Govindam remake but it’s clearly not happening, as per Ishaan.

"No, I am not doing that project,” Ishaan, asked whether he is starring in the film, told a daily, as reported by the website. Vijay, meanwhile, had said during an interview that the actor, cast as the protagonist in the remake of Geetha Govindam, “should portray innocence, vulnerability and mischief as well”, as reported by the website. Vijay, apparently, also said that he isn’t keen on starring in the remake.

"Nooooo! If and when I do a Hindi film it won't be a remake. That's going down the same road again, which I never want to do. I've already given what I had to give to Arjun Reddy and Geetha Govindam. Doing a remake would be repetitive. I'd rather do something original in Hindi,” Vijay said, as reported by the website.

Vijay Deverakonda shot to fame after his performance in his 2017 Telugu film Arjun Reddy. The film is being remade in Hindi as Kabir Singh, starring Shahid Kapoor in the lead role.
