People have become absolutely cautious of their behaviour: Kangana on MeToo movement

Kangana Ranaut has expressed her opinion on the MeToo movement that encompassed the nation last September and said that the fact that men were called out for their horrifying behaviour is "commendable." While speaking to a leading daily, Kangana said that a lot of changes are to be witnessed yet but she is glad that perpetrators have "criminal proceedings" going against them.

Moreover, Kangana also told the daily that in the wake of the MeToo movement, people are cautious of their behaviour and code of conduct as well.

“But the good thing is that in the light of all of this people have become absolutely cautious of their behaviour, their conduct, and obviously a person will think 10 times before humiliating anyone and violating their human rights,” Kangana told the daily.

After making quite an impact in the West, the MeToo wave swept into Bollywood and beyond, following Tanushree Dutta recounting an unpleasant episode in September with veteran actor Nana Patekar on the sets of Horn ‘OK’ Pleassss in 2008.

The #MeToo movement has exposed several celebrities with women coming out to name and shame the offenders. Celebrities like Rajkumar Hirani, Vikas Bahl, Chetan Bhagat, Gursimran Khamba, Kailash Kher, Rajat Kapoor, Alok Nath, Anu Malik and Sajid Khan have been named and shamed for using their positions to exploit the vulnerable.

Kangana Ranaut, meanwhile, is gearing up for the release of her new film Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi, scheduled for January 25.
