The much anticipated Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi finally arrived at the box office with a bang. Kangana Ranaut, who plays the titular role of Rani Lakshmibai in the film has absolutely driven the entire film on her own. From her action sequences to a whistle worthy performance, she has surpassed every expectation and is receiving a thunderous response from the critics and the audiences simultaneously.
Add to this, Manikarnika has achieved the biggest single day collection for a women oriented film in history of Bollywood, even beating Tanu Weds Manu Returns. The film has been trending due to word of mouth and is breaking records pan India. It has witnessed a growth of 130% growth at the box-office minting Rs 8.75 crores on day 1 to Rs 18.10 crores on day 2 by earning Rs 26.85 in merely two days.

The film also marks Kangana's biggest second day collection beating Tanu Weds Manu Returns, Queen and Vidya Balan's Kahaani. In fact, Manikarnika has crossed 1 million in 2 days (Fri-Sat) in overseas markets and has seen 54% growth in UK, 65% growth in Singapore and 25% in Australia and New Zealand.
On the other hand, Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Amrita Rao starrer Thackeray has shown a big jump on day 2 with with the Hindi version showing increased collections across markets. After collecting Rs 6 crores on Friday, the film managed to rake in Rs 10 crore on Saturday. With these impressive numbers at the box-office, the total of the Abhijit Panse directorial has now reached Rs 16 crores (India business).
Clearly, epic drama Manikarnika is being more loved by the audience, as far as box-office figures are concerned.
