Vicky Kaushal’s Uri: The Surgical Strike tax-free in Uttar Pradesh, declares CM Yogi Adityanath

Vicky Kaushal’s latest film Uri: The Surgical Strike has been receiving a whole lot of love from audiences and critics alike. What's more? The film has managed to cross the Rs 150 crore mark at the box-office and is trending well until now. And now, there's another good news for the makers of Uri as the film has been declared tax-free in Uttar Pradesh by the state CM Yogi Adityanath.

Speaking at a cabinet meeting at Prayagraj, the UP CM announced that Uri would be made free of the state GST in Uttar Pradesh. "This is a movie on the surgical strikes, the cabinet has decided to exempt it from state GST. This film is about the country's valour and will instil a feeling of nationalism and patriotism... This will help youth and all citizens of the country to see it," he told the media present at the venue.

Well, this is certainly a good news for the makers of Uri: The Surgical Strike and the move is likely to boost the film's business in its third week.

Written and directed by Aditya Dhar, the film is based on the Indian Army's surgical strikes on terror launch pads in Pakistan in 2016. Apart from Vicky, it also features Paresh Rawal, Mohit Raina and Yami Gautam in lead roles.
