Karan Johar has dismissed reports of approaching Alia Bhatt for the sequel to his 2008 film Dostana and tweeted, “for the record”, that no actor has been officially approached for the project. Certain sections of the press, on Wednesday, reported that Alia has been discussing Dostana 2 and will expectedly close the deal after hearing the final narration of the script. Turns out, reports as such were nothing but rumours.
On Twitter, Karan was quick enough to issue a clarification and said that “some thoughts and ideas are underway but nothing official has moved” on Dostana 2. Directed by Tarun Mansukhani, Dostana starred Priyanka Chopra, John Abraham and Abhishek Bachchan in the principal roles and the film was produced by Karan’s Dharma Productions.

Set in Florida, Dostana narrated the story of two men, who pretend to be gay in order to share an apartment with a girl and both, soon after, end up falling for her.
Reports of Dostana’s sequel have been doing the rounds since a pretty long period of time and we actually hope that the plan materializes soon.
