Rangoli Chandel’s and Krish’s war of words over her sister Kangana Ranaut’s film Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi has turned ugly as the filmmaker, on Wednesday, shared screenshots of his conversation with the film’s crew. “I never thought I've to defend my ability of film making based on the manipulations and lies of one person,” Krish said in his tweet, adding that ‘the person’, who watched Kangana’s as well as his versions of Manikarnika, mentioned that Krish has filmed “85 per cent” of it.

In another conversation with his editor, Suraj, made available through the screenshots shared on Twitter, Krish was appreciated for his work, as he mentioned that the part of the film – “nearly 70-75 per cent” that was shot by him, was a “masterpiece”. Suraj also added that it was “painful” to see a masterpiece of a film like Manikarnika getting “ruined” in the midst of controversy as such.

“This is from the editor who edited n later replaced.. the question is not about who shot how much., but its about proceess which everything has been done with ulterior motive n with a poor taste,” Krish wrote in his tweet, adding that her “lies” are making “things worse”.

Manikarnika involved itself in controversy ever since Krish, who was directing the project, opted out of it midway. Kangana, who plays the titular role in the film, stepped into Krish’s shoes as the director after he departed the project due to what has been blamed on scheduling conflicts and creative differences. As far as the current fiasco is concerned, it ensued after Krish’s comments over the actress taking credits as the primary director of Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi.

While Kangana has maintained strict reticence over the controversy, her sister Rangoli has been defending her on Twitter by sharing screenshots and challenging Krish for his comments.
Krish has been addressing his ‘creative differences’ with Kangana after Manikarnika’s release and also told a leading entertainment portal that his version of the film was met with displeasure by Zee Studios, who has invested in the project as well. Kangana also behaved “rudely” with him, is what Krish claimed.
Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi opened to mixed reviews on January 25.
