Krish is trying to claim credit for what he doesn’t deserve: Manikarnika producer Kamal Jain slams director, stands by Kangana

Kangana Ranaut’s film Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi is doing well at the box office and has been gotten almost favourable reviews from the audience and well as critics, with a few brickbats too. However, one thing that has been associated with the film right from day one is the string of controversies. After Manikarnika had hit the theatres, director Krish, who had walked out on the project before its completion and took up the direction of the NTR biopic had cried foul after Kangana took first credit as a director ahead of the film.

In an interview with an entertainment portal, he had stated that he had directed 70% of the film and the matter became worse when a lot of mudslingings started happening between him and Kangana’s sister Rangoli Chandel who was quick to jump to the actor’s defence. Now, producer Kamal Jain has defended Kangana and slammed Krish for asking credit for something he doesn’t deserve.

Regarding the Manikarnika controversy regarding Krish and Kangana over directorial rights Kamal said, “It’s very sad how Krish is trying to claim credit for what he doesn’t deserve, it was mine and studio’s collective decision to give credits the way they are, to attack Kangana who stood by the film from beginning to end is very sad, whatever she did she could have not done without production and creative team’s consent, for Krish rather than making it a media trial specifically after huge critical claim and box office success is a clear attempt to harm our film, why doesn’t he go legal way if he is speaking the truth and prove his claims, we tried to handle this matter on every level nothing was done without informing him it’s sad he chose to create this controversy at the stage.”

When Kangana had taken over the reins of the film from Krish many claimed that the actor had used her clout and ousted the director and tried to fuel the fire. However, at that time too Kamal had spoken in favour of Kangana and maintained that it was a collective decision of the producers and writer Vijeyndra Prasad who had asked the actor to don the director’s hat.
