Tahira Kashyap has admitted that she was "this crazy and insecure person” after the release of her husband Ayushmann Khurrana’s debut film Vicky Donor. During her interview with an eminent journalist, Tahira shared that she went through the “worst phase” of her relationship with Ayushmann during Vicky Donor. Also, Tahira was pregnant in 2012 and went ‘crazy’ because of her hormonal changes, she said, adding that she seemingly wasn’t mature enough to deal with it.
"I was this crazy, insecure pregnant person when Vicky Donor happened and that was the worst phase for both of us. I think both of us were very immature. He didn’t have the maturity to kind of hold my hand and tell me it’s OK, especially when I am crazy on my hormones because I was pregnant at the time and I also didn’t have the maturity to just take it easy and know that this thing will get over,” Tahira told the journalist.

Apart from the perks of being an actor’s wife, “frills” are several as well, as told by Tahira. It took a while but Tahira did adjust to the demeanour of the film industry. "Both of us lacked maturity. Then, you also feel like a whale and considering your husband is with beautiful women all around and you don’t come from that background. Even, if you have the maturity, the passion and are understanding, you but you don’t have the maturity to deal with the frills that come along,” Tahira added.

Tahira Kashyap and Ayushmann Khurrana married in 2008 after dating for several years. They parent two children – son Virajveer and daughter Varushka.
Tahira, in 2018, was diagnosed with breast cancer and went through a preventive mastectomy. She has directed a critically acclaimed film Toffee. Last seen in Badhaai Ho, Ayushmann will appear next in Dream Girl.
