Bhumi Pednekar has been cast in Pati Patni Aur Woh after Taapsee Pannu was initially ‘considered’ for her role in the film and incidentally, she is working with the Pink actress in Saand Ki Aankh. But there is no ‘awkwardness’ between them, Bhumi clarified while speaking to a leading daily. Bhumi, during her interview, said she has “nothing to do” with “whatever happened” regarding Taapsee’s exit from Pati Patni Aur Woh and they are great friends otherwise.
Asked whether there is any ‘awkwardness’ between Taapsee and her on the sets of Saand Ki Aankh, Bhumi told the daily, “Not at all. Taapsee and I are great friends and we have started a wonderful journey together. Whatever happened (with Pati Patni Aur Woh) had nothing to do with me.”

B.R. Chopra’s 1978 film Pati Patni Aur Woh is being remade with Kartik Aaryan, Bhumi and Ananya Panday, playing the lead roles in it. Ahead of the announcement of the film earlier in January, Taapsee said in an interview that she was dropped from Pati Patni Aur Woh and wasn’t even given a proper explanation for it.
After Taapsee’s interview, producers Bhushan Kumar and Juno Chopra released a joint statement, saying that they “never made any commitment to her.”
During her interview, Bhumi also said that she respects Taapsee’s opinion, adding, “Taapsee is somebody who has a lot of courage and she speaks out on what she feels right and what she doesn’t feel right about. I respect her views and thoughts.” Pati Patni Aur Woh is being directed by Mudassar Aziz.
