I just can’t believe that my frown has become a sensation: Alia Bhatt on her ‘sad’ viral photo with Ranbir Kapoor

Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt are the newest couple on the Bollywood circuit. The two opened about being in a relationship last year and have been in the news ever since for their numerous outings and dates. However, recently there were whispers of how things are not going great between the two lovebirds and Alia was ‘sad’ during the promotions of her film Gully Boy opposite Ranveer Singh. Their photos are under the scrutiny of the ever-vigilant netizens and they have concluded that the pair are heading towards splitsville.

This rumour started doing rounds last year when a photo of Alia and Ranbir where the former is looking sad and forlorn while the other is engrossed in his cell phone started doing the rounds. This sad viral photo of Alia has become fodder for memes on the internet and the actress opened up about it to a leading daily. She said, “Honestly, at first when people started claiming I was crying, I found it funny. It’s a joke on my sets and with those who are closest to me.”

She further added, “Anybody who looks at my face tells me, Alia, why are you looking so sad? Please cheer up’. I tend to zone out a lot. But only a few people will know that this is my usual face, when I’m focused or thinking about something. So, I just can’t believe that my frown has become a sensation and a new story is being cooked up every day about how I’m sad. It’s not true. I don’t find the need to clarify it because in my heart, if I know what the truth is, nothing else really matters."

Well, well, Alia, as you very well know the internet is a funny little thing and moreover, it can’t be controlled, so just grin and bear the memes coming your way.
