Imran Khan has thrown a ‘no ball', quips Javed Akhtar as Pakistani PM denies his country’s role in Pulwama attack

Renowned lyricist and screenwriter Javed Akhtar who had cancelled a visit to Pakistan on an invitation by the Karachi Art Council in the wake of the Pulwama attacks lambasted Pakistani PM Imran Khan today for his address to India over the terrorist attack. Akhtar in a tweet said that Khan has thrown a “no ball” (a dig at his cricketing days) as he is not taking responsibility for the terror attacks against India.

Akhtar slammed Khan for his remarks and even shared an incident when he had taken a sly dig at a Pakistani journalist who had asked him how Indians can be so sure that the terrorist activities in India are carried out by Pakistan. Check out his tweet below.

Khan in a video message said, “All this 'attack Pakistan' talk is all keeping elections in mind. But if at all these are serious, please make note of one thing clearly - Pakistan will not think of retaliating, it will retaliate. There will be no other option left with Pakistan."

In the video, Khan said, “Pakistan is moving towards stability. Why would we do something like this? If you have any actionable intelligence that a Pakistani is involved, give it to us. I guarantee you, we will take action, not because we are under pressure, but because they are acting as enemies of Pakistan. India accused Pakistan without any evidence and without thinking how this (attack) would benefit us. Would even a fool try to sabotage such an important visit as that of the Saudi crown prince?"

However, Khan’s statements fell on deaf ears as India has garnered support from countries like Russia and the USA against Pakistan, for the dastardly terror attack perpetrated in Pulwama where 40 CRPF jawans were killed and several grievously injured in one of the most horrendous terror attacks of recent times.
