Alia Bhatt spoke about her relationship with her father, filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt and said that she didn’t miss her dad as a child as much because he wasn’t really there most of the times owing to his busy schedule, a leading website reports. During her interview on chat show Starry Nights 2.OH, Alia said that her father was “like a celebrity” and kept himself occupied with work most of the times.
"For me, he was always like a celebrity who would walk in to the house. I didn’t miss him as such because I did not really have him,” Alia said on the show. However, Alia, 25, did add that after a few years, Mr Bhatt did spend time with her and played board games.

The real friendship, in Alia’s words, began after she made her debut in Bollywood and understood her father’s “consuming job” in the film industry. “But after a couple of years, he made sure he spent some time with us, played board games. The real friendship started when I entered the Bollywood industry and I understand how it must have been for him. It is such a consuming job," Alia said on the show.
