Yesterday, the Indian Air Force conducted air strikes at three terrorist camps in Balakot in Pakistan occupied Kashmir. The strike was aimed at the biggest terror camp of Jaish-e-Mohammed in Balakot. The surgical strikes were conducted in retaliation to the dastardly Pulwama terror attacks where a suicide bomber rammed a truck full of explosives into a convoy conveying CRPF soldiers. Around 40 CRPF soldiers lost their lives and several were grievously injured.
The success of the air strike was short lived as today Pakistani Air Force plane was detected in Jammu and Kashmir with an aim to wreak havoc in India. Indian forces shot down the F-18 fighter plane but also lost its own MIG-21 jet and pilot Wing Commander Abhinandan in the process. Abhinandan has been captured by Pakistani forces and they issued a video of the pilot being beaten and taken into custody. His capture has sent a wave of shock throughout the country and people are praying for his safe return. Our Bollywood celebrities also shared their concern over Abhinandan’s capture. Hrithik Roshan, Karan Johar, Anupam Kher, Sushmita Sen, Siddharth and several others took to Twitter to share their worry about the Wing Commander.

Since the time of the capture of Wing Commander Abhinandan, Twitter has been abuzz with hashtags such as #BringBackAbhinandan, #Abhinandan, #SayNoToWar and #GenevaConvention that are trending. Wing Commander Abhinandan showed immense courage and bravery in the video that has gone viral on the internet. Apparently, Pakistan has violated the rules of the Geneva Convention by showing the video of the IAF pilot as he cannot be subjected to undue public curiosity.
