2018 was a very promising year for Varun Dhawan as both his films which were not your regular masala potboiler- October and Sui Dhaaga: Made in India got him a lot of acclaims. The actor branched out and delivered top-notch performances in both the films which had challenging roles and simple yet difficult characters. Now, he is all set to rule 2019 with Abhishek Varman’s period drama Kalank that has an ensemble cast. Varun will be matching his acting skills with a horde of powerhouse performers like Alia Bhatt, Sanjay Dutt, Madhuri Dixit, Kunal Kemmu, Sonakshi Sinha and Aditya Roy Kapur in Kalank.
The fans are eagerly awaiting the release of the film as everything about the film has been kept tightly under wraps. However, today, Varun shared a fan-made poster of Kalank as his Instagram story.

In the poster, one can see three jodis or couples- Alia and Varun, Madhuri and Sanjay, Sonakshi and Aditya. The poster shows the six actors in a somewhat traditional avatar. Underneath the poster, we see stills of Varun-Alia from their film Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania, while Sanjay’s and Madhuri’s looks are from Saajan and Thanedaar.
Kalank is being produced by Karan Johar under his Dharma productions banner and is reportedly set in the 1940s. The film is slated to release on April 19.
