Mohit Suri has announced his upcoming film Malang, starring Anil Kapoor, Aditya Roy Kapur, Disha Patani and Kunal Kemmu, a leading daily reports. The filmmaker confirmed the news to a daily saying that Malang will be “intense, edgy and mad” and is sort of a revenge drama.
"With Malang, I am essentially returning to genre I enjoy the most. It will be intense, edgy and mad. I hope Malang is as thrilling and exciting an experience for the audience to see as much as it has already been for me,” Mohit said in a statement, as reported by the daily.

T-Series chief Bhushan Kumar will be producing Malang with Krishan Kumar, Luv Ranjan’s Luv Films, Ankur Garg and Jay Shewakramani’s Northern Lights Entertainment. While speaking to the daily about Malang, Bhushan said that the film has been written well and consists of beautiful songs and strong characters.
“Malang has the perfect mix of a well written story, beautiful songs and strong characters. After Aashiqui 2, which was a defining film in Mohit, Aditya and even my career as a producer, I am glad to back Mohit’s next directorial. We have previously worked with Anil, Kunal and Disha and I am happy they are on board for Malang. We are really excited to get this one rolling,” Bhushan told the daily.
On Instagram, meanwhile, Anil Kapoor shared a picture with his Malang co-stars and said that he is excited to begin filming.

Malang is expected to begin filming this month and will be shot in Mauritius, Goa and Mumbai. The film will release on February 14, 2020.
Mohit Suri has directed films including Zeher, Murder 2, Aashiqui 2, Ek Villain and Half Girlfriend.
