Gully Boy is not Ranveer Singh's rapping debut, he was once called a 'rhyme doctor'; find out why
After back to back superhit films, Ranveer Singh is riding high on this successful career. The actor recently made the nation obsessed with his raps in Zoya Akhtar's Gully Boy. When asked about his rapping skills and if he had ever rapped before, the actor revealed to Grazia India that contrary to popular belief, Gully Boy isn’t Ranveer's rapping debut.
We saw him belt out some rhymes, almost a decade ago, in the romantic-comedy, Ladies vs Ricky Bahl. “While those performances were quite forgettable, it still helped me expand my skill-set. When I was a copywriter at an advertising agency back in the day, I started writing my own stuff. There was a running joke in the office – ‘If you have a stale line, go see the intern aka the ‘rhyme doctor’, he’ll sort you out’”, Ranveer added.
On the work front, Ranveer is currently prepping up for Kabir Khan's '83 in which he will be playing the role of the former Indian cricket captain Kapil Dev. Apart from this, he will also be seen in Karan Johar's next directorial Takht.
