March 1 saw the release of Kartik Aaryan and Kriti Sanon starrer Luka Chuppi and Sushant Singh Rajput, Bhumi Pednekar, Manoj Bajpayee, Ashutosh Rana and Ranvir Shorey starrer Sonchiriya. While the former has emerged as a clear winner, the dacoit drama has failed to create an impact amongst the audience.
Luka Chuppi, which earned Rs 8.01 crore on its opening day to become the biggest opener in Kartik's career, has maintained a firm grim even on the fifth day. Sunday and Monday were super-strong with the film collecting Rs 14.04 crore and Rs 7.90 crore respectively. On Tuesday, the film minted Rs 5.04 crore, taking the total India business of Kartik and Kriti starrer to Rs 45.07 crore.

Talking about the overwhelming response, producer Dinesh Vijan said, "We are thrilled that the audiences have loved and appreciated the film so much. The film has held strong during the week too, and that gives us immense pride. Thankyou for all making it a success."
On the other hand, Sonchiriya has crashed on Tuesday with very low collections. While the film fell flat on the the first day itself with minimal collections, it has earned around Rs 6 crore nett lifetime collections at best. On Tuesday, the film raked in Rs 45 lakhs, taking the total collection to Rs 4.75 crore.
It looks like Kartik’s fandom has worked like magic on the box-office.
