Janhvi Kapoor is choosing her projects carefully and is certainly not in a hurry to rush into building her filmography resume. The 22-year-old actress was recently offered a film in which was to play a double role – “one a serious avatar and the other a flighty one,” – but she refused to star in it, a leading daily reports.
The reason why Janhvi didn’t sign up for the film was because she felt her character would be compared to that of her mother Sridevi’s 1989 film ChaalBaaz, in which the veteran actress played a double role. The pressure, it appears, was too much for Janhvi to bear with as per the report. Janhvi’s team, however, has refused that she was offered this particular film.

Meanwhile, the report also states that Janhvi will appear in Rannbhoomi after Takht – both of which are Karan Johar’s films. Rannbhoomi was announced by KJo in February 2018 with Varun Dhawan starring in the lead role and Shashank Khaitan directing it.

Unconfirmed reports, meanwhile, state that Janhvi has been cast opposite Varun in the film. Rannbhoomi will release in 2020 as will Takht, which co-stars Ranveer Singh, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Alia Bhatt, Bhumi Pednekar, Vicky Kaushal and Anil Kapoor. Takht will be directed by Karan Johar.
Janhvi, daughter of filmmaker Boney Kapoor and late actress Sridevi, made her debut in July last year with Dhadak. She is currently filming the Gunjan Saxena biopic, reportedly titled Kargil Girl.
