Watch: Sanjay Dutt refers to Madhuri Dixit as ‘Ma’am’ during Kalank teaser launch and we are surprised

Karan Johar’s ambitious drama Kalank is special for several reasons but mostly because it reunites Sanjay Dutt and Madhuri Dixit onscreen after 25 years. At the teaser launch of Kalank in Mumbai on March 12, Dutt said that he enjoyed working on the film with Alia Bhatt, Sonakshi Sinha, Varun Dhawan, Aditya Roy Kapur and “most of all,” ‘Ma’am’. Well, in case you didn’t get that, Dutt has been referring to Madhuri as ‘Ma’am,’ not only during the event but also on the sets.

“It’s always a pleasure working with Dharma. I am so proud of you, Karan. And to work with Varun, Sonakshi, Aditya and Alia, and most of all, Ma’am, after so many years,” Dutt said as the crowd burst into a loud cheer.

Dutt further added, "Bohot acha laga aur bohot samay ke baad main inke saath kaam kar raha hoon. Aur yehi koshish karunga ki aur zyada kaam karoon inke saath. (I feel happy that I got to work with her after so long. And I would try to work with her more)." Madhuri, too, expressed her joy on sharing screen space with her co-star after two decades, "Hum 20 plus years ke baad kaam kar rahe hai saath me. It is very wonderful to work with people who had worked with before."

Dutt and Madhuri have worked together in several films including Saajan, Khalnayak, Thanedaar and Saahibaan. Reports suggest that Madhuri and Dutt dated briefly in the nineties but that is history for now and we just cannot wait to watch them together on screen after so, so long!
