Karan Johar’s upcoming production venture Kalank is one of the most eagerly awaited films of the year. Directed by Abhishek Varman, the film boasts of a stellar star cast that includes Sanjay Dutt, Madhuri Dixit, Varun Dhawan, Alia Bhatt, Sonakshi Sinha, and Aditya Roy Kapur. After a series of first look posters of the principal characters and an intriguing teaser, Karan shared another poster of Aditya today.
It follows the first poster where KJo had introduced Aditya as, “A virtuous heart with an uncorrupted mind. Presenting Dev Chaudhry. “ Today he shared the new poster on social media and captioned it as, “The face of nobility - here’s #Dev! #Kalank in cinemas on 17th April. @adityaroykapur
@duttsanjay @varundvn @aliaabhatt@aslisona @madhuridixitnene@abhivarman @apoorva1972#SajidNadiadwala @ipritamofficial@foxstarhindi @dharmamovies @nadiadwalagrandson.”

In the poster, we see Aditya ready to face a raging mob with a naked sword in hand. However, his stance is not of aggression but it is more like he is resigned to face the inevitable and now has to take up arms to defend what is right even though he does not want to fight. With fist clenched and a backward glance, Aditya does not look like a man who is pumped up with adrenaline to fight the mob but is still hopeful that someone will tell him to stop fighting.
Since the film is based in the 1940s, it might be presumed that this still could have a relevance to the ugly riots that occurred in the country during the partition of India. We also see neighbouring offices of General Life Insurance and others set ablaze. Whatever it is the poster is really intriguing and has piqued everyone’s interest in the film even more. Kalank is slated to release on April 17.
