Talking about the honour, in January, Manoj was declared as the recipient of the award. After the announcement, Manoj, in a statement said that his friends, fans and family were extremely happy with the news and even said nobody on social media objected or created a fuss about him receiving the Padma Shri. Previously, Manoj was honoured with two National Awards for Pinjar and Satya.
Manoj, over the years, sowed the seeds of hard work and voila! the fruits of the seeds sown have turned out to be the sweetest of all. The 50-year-old actor isn't just a critically acclaimed performer but has also received love from commercial cinema watchers. Manoj started his career with a small role in films like Drohkaal and Bandit Queen and struck a jackpot with Ram Gopal Varma's gangster drama in 1998 titled Satya. Post Satya, Bajpayee became a familiar name in the list of great actors in Bollywood.

However, after films like Kaun, Raajneeti, Zubeidaa, Aarakshan and many more, he once again stunned everyone as Sardar Khan in Gangs Of Wasseypur and stole the show with a gritty performance.
Nou just us, actress Katrina Kaif and Tabu too are huge fans of the thespian. After the screening of Raajneeti, Manoj's co-star in the film Katrina touched his feet as a mark of respect for the class act in the film. It is said that after Satya released, Tabu, who herself is a powerhouse of talent, touched his feet.
