Shraddha Kapoor, who opted out of the biopic on badminton ace Saina Nehwal, apparently kept director Amole Gupte on “standby” for almost eight months, a leading daily reports. Parineeti Chopra has replaced Shraddha in the film after she quit the project. Sources in the meantime, told the daily that Amole had worked hard on the film before Shraddha signed it, and was waiting patiently for her to allot dates.
Shraddha, however, quit the film since she was finally unable to provide dates for it. Although she had started training for the film, Shraddha was diagnosed with dengue two days after she started filming and couldn’t continue after that. She was expected to resume filming in April but reportedly opted out of it as she is currently in the midst of an arduous schedule - Shraddha is filming Street Dancer, co-starring Varun Dhawan while her upcoming releases also include Saaho and Chhichhore.

"Despite everyone's best efforts... dates were clashing, so it made sense for Shraddha to opt out. The decision was taken by mutual consent," a source had told a leading daily.
Nevertheless, sources suggest that makers of the biopic will begin work on the film soon so as to release it in 2020. Parineeti was welcomed on board last week by producer Bhushan Kumar.
