It takes a lifetime for actors to get such a role, it is my dream role, says Akshay Kumar on playing Havildar Ishar Singh in Kesari

Akshay Kumar who is currently busy with the promotions of his upcoming period drama Kesari revealed how his role in the film has been a dream role to play. While promoting the film, the actor spoke about what fascinated him to take up the role, the difficult part of it and a lot more.

When asked if he considers this role to be very satisfying as a person and an actor, Akshay said, "This is a dream role to play. Itna courageous role milta nahi hai. Actors ko lifetime lag jaate hai aisa role milte milte."

When asked what fascinated him to take up this film and the biggest challenge he faced, the actor said, "We get fascinated by such films like hollywood made 300, which is a fictitious story. Here is a story that is a true story. Now who will not get fascinated by a story that is so strong, which is real. Forget everything, google the biggest battle ever fought and no. 2 is saragarhi and we haven’t made a single film on it. Not many people know about it. Even i didn’t know about it but when i went deep into it, i found so many things about it,my director told me about this film. He told me what he has written and what actually happened. These people knew they are going to die but didn’t escape from their country and imagine the battle where you know you are going to die. I consider myself lucky to have done this film. Itni badi film karne ka mauka mila hai yeh main chod hi nahi sakta. It's a huge story and I urge every parent to take their children and show them this film and show them what their ancestors have done. I dedicated this film to all the martyrs of all the countries of the world who have given their lives to save their country."

Akshay also spoke about if the role was difficult for him and revealed, "Yes. the kind of terrain in which we shot, that was difficult. I shot in Spiti. pehle hi udhar oxygen kam hai. Teen din toh climate se use to hone ke liye lagta hai. Fir ek shot dene ke baad agar retake ho toh das minute ka brak lena padta hai because you are catching up with your breath. It was very difficult plus pagdi pehni thi maine voh 1 sava kilo ki thi fir talvar pakdi thi voh 6-7 kilo ki thi. Jabki they were in reality fighting with 20-25 kg swords toh unki talvar ke liye voh khate the asli ghee aur ab log khate hai asli steroids."
