After roping in Ajay Devgn as Indian Air Force pilot Vijay Karnik in Bhuj: The Pride Of India, the makers have announced Parineeti Chopra and Sonakshi Sinha as the female leads. Producer Bhushan Kumar made the official announcement regarding the cast on Twitter on Wednesday.
In the film, Sonakshi will be playing Sunderben Jetha Madharparya, a social worker who encourages 299 women from Madhapur to help build the runway used to enable a flight carrying Indian Army officers to land safely.

Talking about Sonakshi's character, director Abhishek Dudhaiya said, "Sonakshi Sinha is an extremely talented actress. She is the perfect choice to play the role of Sunderben Jetha Madharparya. We are delighted to have her on board for this film."
Parineeti has been cast as Heena Rahman, a femme fatale from Lahore. Parineeti, in the post shared by her on Twitter, said the film is 'the most special true story ever'.

Sanjay Dutt has been cast as Ranchordas Svabhai Ravari aka Pagi. His character has the efficiency to identify a person's height, weight and gender with the help of their footprints.
Vijay Karnik was in-charge of the Bhuj airbase during the war, which remained operational despite facing heavy bombing from Pakistan. He was accompanied by 50 IAF and 60 Defence Security Corps personnel at the airbase. Rana Daggubati and Ammy Virk also co-star in the film.
