After his last directorial Padmaavat, Sanjay Leela Bhansali has been on a constant lookout to finalise his next projects. While he recently announced Inshallah with Salman Khan and Alia, his other film, based on the famous poet Sahir Ludhianvi, has been gathering attention for quite some time now.
From Irrfan Khan and Shah Rukh Khan to Priyanka Chopra and Deepika Padukone, several stars were said to have been approached for the interesting biopic. However, it was touted that Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan were the front runners to depict the love that bonded acclaimed poet Sahir Ludhianvi and author Amrita Pritam.

Now we hear that while Abhishek is still the choice to play the poet, his Manmarziyaan co-star Taapsee has been zeroed to essay the role of Amrita in the film. "Both Abhishek and Taapsee have loved the story and are looking forward to collaborating again. However, they are yet to sign on the dotted line. Once the formalities are locked, they will begin prep," a source told a leading daily. The much-awaited film is reportedly scheduled to go on the floors between October-December this year.
