PeepingMoon.com recently learned that Bollywood actress Urmila Matondkar might join the Congress Party and contest the forthcoming Lok Sabha polls from Mumbai. According to sources, the Rangeela girl will probably be fielded by the party as its candidate from the Mumbai North constituency. Now confirming the news of Urmila joining the party today, we have got our hands on a picture of her with Mumbai north-west Lok Sabha candidate Sanjay Nirupam and MRCC GS Bhushan Patil as they reach New Delhi to meet Congress president Rahul Gandhi.

Well, Urmila's candidature comes as a surprise to many but for those caught unaware, the Congress party wants to bring starry value to their poll campaigns after BJP’s Gopal Shetty won from this constituency over the Congress’ Sanjay Nirupam by a handsome margin during the 2014 Lok Sabha poll.

In fact, before Urmila, Bollywood actor Govinda contested the 2004 polls on a Congress ticket from the Mumbai North constituency. Now as the party brings Urmila to the forefront, we definitely want to see what sort of competition she will bring to the BJP’s sitting candidate.

On the work front, she last did an item song Bewafa Beauty in 2018 film Blackmail.
