The 2019 Lok Sabha elections is certainly a star-studded affair. While yesterday popular actress Urmila Matondkar officially joined Congress and will contest elections from Mumbai North seat, Bollywood's 'dhai kilo ka haath' hero, Sunny Deol is Bhartiya Janta Party's top most choice to join the bandwagon and contest elections!
According to our sources, the Maharashtra unit of the BJP has been asked to convince veteran actor Dharmendra's elder son Sunny to contest the upcoming 2019 Lok Sabha elections. Interestingly, Hema Malini is an active politician from BJP but Dharmendra didn't enjoy a good political run in the past. However, she has said that this is going to be her last elections and she will not contest the next general elections.

The Gurdaspur Lok Sabha constituency has a strange Bollywood connect. It has been a winning seat for another veteran Bollywood actor-turned-politician Vinod Khanna, who was the BJP MP from the seat from 1998-2009 and then from 2014 to 2017 till he passed away.
Rumours were rife that late actor's second wife Kavita Khanna was keen to contest from his husband's seat and even showed her eagerness to take his legacy ahead. However, insiders from the party office murmur that high command needs a winning face and would rather encash on Sunny Deol's stardom to win the key seat in Punjab, than bank of late Vinod Khanna's popularity.
