Filmmaker Karan Johar is ecstatic about the fact that his wax statue has been unveiled at the Madame Tussauds in Singapore on April 4 and told a leading daily that it feels like his “childhood dream” has been realized. Along with his mother Hiroo Johar, Karan unveiled his wax statue at Madame Tussauds on Wednesday and also shared pictures on social media.
“I remember visiting the Madame Tussauds museum with my father when I was all of eight years old. It feels like a childhood dream has been realised. Today, my statue will be a part of this prestigious museum and I am vastly excited and honoured,” Karan told the daily.
Karan is also the first Indian filmmaker to have a wax statue at Madame Tussauds. In his statement to the daily, Karan also said that he is elated that his children – Yash and Roohi – will be able to see his wax figure at Madame Tussauds.
“Just the fact that I can bring my babies one day to this museum and they can see their father standing tall amongst so many illustrious and luminous personalities is the most emotional feeling for me. Waxing eloquent is something I have attempted to do for many years now, but being waxed is an altogether different high,” Karan added.
Apart from unveiling his wax statue at Madame Tussauds, Karan also launched a new experience zone – an 'ultimate film star' experience, a 2,500 square meters new zone celebrating Indian cinema. It will utilise interactive technology like AR, Kinect, Hologram and physical special effects giving visitors the chance to dance and act their way into the hall of fame alongside noted Indian celebrities.
Karan Johar is a celebrated filmmaker and has directed films such as Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham and My Name Is Khan.
