Sobhita Dhulipala has refuted reports of co-starring in the Hindi remake of the Tamil film Kanchana with Akshay Kumar and told a leading daily that rumours as such are nothing but amusing. The 26-year-old actress is shooting for the web series Bard Of Blood in Rajasthan and received a congratulatory message for the Kanchana remake, and she said, that she was absolutely clueless about it.
Soon after, she Googled herself and found reports of her being cast in Akshay Kumar’s film but once and for all, clarified that she hasn’t signed up for the film.
“I was shooting for the Bard Of Blood in Rajasthan when someone sent me a congratulatory message. I replied with a ‘thank you’, but added a question mark to it. They wrote back saying it’s for the Kanchana remake that I was doing. So, I sent one more question mark back and googled myself. A similar thing had happened with Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior as well. I’m not doing it (Kanchana), but I’m quite amused with these rumours,” Sobhita told the daily.
Akshay, meanwhile, confirmed his appearance in Kanchana, a horror comedy, while promoting Kesari recently and said during a media interaction, "Yes, I will be doing it." Reports also suggest that the Hindi remake will be titled Laxmi.
Akshay Kumar is expected to begin work on the film after completing Rohit Shetty’s Sooryavanshi.
Sobhita Dhulipala made her debut in Bollywood with Raman Raghav 2.0 in 2016 and has also appeared in the films Chef and Kaalakaandi, but she recently shot to fame with her role of wedding planner Tara Khanna in the web series Made In Heaven.
