After a long time, actresses are surging ahead in Bollywood. They are calling the shots, giving a tough fight to the heroes with their performances and have started raising their voice on pay disparity. Another noticeable change that has come about is the fact that many of them have turned producers. Priyanka Chopra, Anushka Sharma, Deepika Padukone, Madhuri Dixit and now Alia Bhatt have all turned producers.
Anushka, who turned producer with her highly acclaimed film NH 10 was probably one of the first ones to take the opportunity that too at a fairly young age. Since then, she has produced Phillauri and Pari under her banner Clean Slate Films. Now, the talented actress is looking forward to adding on to her resume and planning to don the director’s hat. The latest buzz is that the actress will soon be turning to film direction and that is why she hasn’t signed any films after Zero that released last year.
Anushka is also in talks with large digital platforms like Netflix and Amazon to create shows for them. Recently, Kangana Ranaut took up direction and co-directed the historical drama Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi which was both financially successful and critically acclaimed. She even received a lot of appreciation for her direction. Now Anushka might be following suit. We’re sure the hardworking and meticulous actress will definitely do a good job of directing a film.
