Actress Alia Bhatt has recently said that even though she lacks the grace of a yesteryear heroine, Kalank has given her the chance to play a “full-on” Hindi film actress which was dying to portray.
In an interview, Alia that her character Roop is the kind of heroine she grew up watching and savouring. But she claims a challenge was faced was that she believes her body lacks the grace of a typical heroine. Adding, “I lack the 'adaa' of the heroines of yesteryears.”
The 26-year-old actress claimed, “Roop’s character required a certain amount of vulnerability and maturity. This is why I wanted to act in Hindi films.”
Talking about the Kathak dance she has done in the film, Alia said, “I have to give the credit to my dance coach Tejaswini. She was instrumental in modulating my body line for the dancing. Also, Birju Maharajji who taught me the facial expressions. My face looks very different in Kalank".
