Neena Gupta has signed up for her next project, a thrilled titled Gwalior, co-starring Sanjay Mishra, a leading daily reports. The film is being shot in Gwalior itself and is expected to wrap by May. Sharing details about the film, Neena told the daily that she plays a housewife in Gwalior while Sanjay has been cast as her husband Sambhu Nath Mishra.
“It is an interesting concept. I play Manju Mishra, a housewife, and the story narrates how an uneducated woman who is perceived as weak handles a situation involving cash crunch,” Neena told the daily.
Sanjay Mishra, on the other hand, is elated to work with Neena in the film and told the daily, “I am grateful for the chance to work with her on this film. She is my senior from National School of Drama, and since I have the utmost respect for her in real life, it wasn’t difficult to forge the husband-wife bond on screen.”
Gwalior has been written and directed by Jaspal Singh Sandhu and Rajeev Barnwal. “It’s a thriller with an element of drama and revolves around an old, married couple, and how their lives take an unexpected turn. We are shooting inside a 150-year-old house. After Gwalior, we will move to Varanasi for a three-day shoot,” Jaspal told the daily.
Neena Gupta was last seen in 2018’s Badhaai Ho and won accolades for her role. She is best known for appearing in the television series Saans and Siski.
