Kangana Ranaut donates Rs 1 lakh to Aamir Khan's Paani Foundation, Rangoli Chandel tweets

Kangana Ranaut donated Rs 1 lakh to Aamir Khan's Paani Foundation, her sister Rangoli Chandel informed on Twitter. Paani foundation is spearheading the campaign Jalmitra. On Twitter, Rangoli urged users to donate “whatever you can” to help farmers, adding that it’s “not charity”.

“Kangana donated 1 lakh and I donated 1 thousand to http://jalmitra.org please donate whatever you can to help our farmers, it’s not charity, we have been unfair to them for way too long… India got independence but still cruel British laws and policies weren’t changed to favour our farmers, we eat because of them, on this earth day let’s show our gratitude to “Dhartiputras “ our dear farmers,” Rangoli tweeted and also shared a screenshot of the receipt issued by the foundation after Kangana’s donation.

Set up in 2016 by the team of the TV series Satyamev Jayate -- which was led by Aamir Khan - the Paani Foundation aims to fight drought in rural Maharashtra by harnessing the power of communication to mobilise, motivate and train people in this mission.

Workwise, Kangana Ranaut will appear next in Mental Hai Kya, co-starring Rajkummar Rao. The film is scheduled to release on June 21. Last seen in Manikarnika: The Queen Of Jhansi, Kangana’s upcoming projects also include Panga and a biopic on Former Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu Jayalalithaa.
