Rohit Shetty’s upcoming film Sooryavanshi, starring Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif in the lead roles, will begin filming on May 6 in Mumbai, a leading daily reports. In the Maharashtra capital, as per sources, a house set has been constructed at a studio for Akshay and Katrina to film romantic sequences. Akshay has been cast as ATS (Anti-Terrorist Squad) Chief Veer Sooryavanshi in the film while Katrina stars as the female lead.

“Both Akshay and Katrina will be a part of the first schedule which will continue for 10-12 days in the city. The set of a house has been designed at Mehboob studio wherein the couple will film some romantic scenes,” a source was quoted as saying by the daily, adding that the second schedule of the film is in Bangkok.

 “He will be canning a larger-than-life introductory scene with Akshay at some landmark locations in Bangkok. Katrina is unlikely to be a part of this shoot,” the source added.

After Bangkok, Rohit and the cast and crew will film in Goa. “He will shoot briefly there, before heading to Hyderabad where Sooryavanshi will wrap up at Ramoji Filmcity. The large ensemble cast will be present in both Goa and Hyderabad,” the source added. Most of Sooryavanshi’s shooting will be complete by July while a few songs and patchwork will be shot in November in Goa.

Sooryavanshi is scheduled to release during the Eid 2020 weekend.
