Tara Sutaria was supposed to star in Shahid Kapoor’s Kabir Singh but said that she opted out of it because it didn’t work out, she said while speaking to a leading daily. The 23-year-old actress is making her debut in Bollywood with Karan Johar’s Student Of The Year 2 and said that she had to let Kabir Singh ‘get away’ because a large part of her first film was left to shoot.
After SOTY 2, Tara will appear in Marjaavaan, co-starring Sidharth Malhotra. Asked about Kabir Singh, Tara told the daily, “It didn’t work out because we had so much left to shoot of SOTY 2, but I am glad I did Marjaavaan soon after.”
Kabir Singh, a remake of Telugu blockbuster Arjun Reddy, casts Shahid Kapoor in the lead role while Kiara Advani has replaced Tara as the female lead. The film will release in June.
Tara, meanwhile, is gearing up for the release of SOTY 2. Directed by Punit Malhotra, SOTY 2 also marks Ananya Panday’s debut in Bollywood and stars Tiger Shroff as the male lead. The film will hit screens on May 10.
Tara Sutaria’s upcoming releases also include RX100 with Ahaan Shetty apart from SOTY 2 and Marjaavaan.
