After almost 18 years of its release, Sunny Deol's and Ameesha Patel's Partition drama Gadar-Ek Prem Katha is all set to get its sequel. Talking to PTI, a source close to the film's production unit confirmed this news and informed that the sequel shall pick pieces from where the prequel ended and the original cast that is Ameesha and Sunny will be retained for the film.
"We have been working on Gadar sequel since 15 years. It will be the story of Tara, Sakeena and their son Jeet. The story will move ahead with an India-Pakistan angle. Gadar is incomplete without it. The cast will remain the same, like how we have seen in films like Baahubali, Rambo, Fast and Furious, etc. We have discussed the idea with Sunny. We can't disclose anything at the moment," the source told PTI.
Gadar-Ek Prem Katha finds itself in the top three all-time highest footfall list and remains to be director Anil's biggest blockbuster.
Speaking about the cast, Sunny has forayed into politics with the Bharatiya Janata Party and is contesting elections from the Gurdaspur seat. Workwise, Sunny was last seen in Blank. Ameesha, however, has been missing from the big screen after making an appearance in Abbas-Mastan's Race 3 in 2013.
