Parineeti Chopra made her Bollywood debut opposite Arjun Kapoor in 2012 film Ishaqzaade and even went on to bag a National Award for the film. However, she ended up taking a two year sabbatical from films after the release of Kill Dil in 2014. As the actress recently made an apperance on the chat show Feet Up with the stars Season 2, hosted by Anaita Shroff Adajania, she revealed what triggered her break.
Talking about it, Parineeti said, "I was too fat. I had started looking really bad," adding "One day I saw a picture of myself and I got really scared. I looked at myself and I didn't recognise myself. This is not a 26-year-old girl. I have no right to look like this, especially if I am an actress. And at that time, one film of mine had flopped also. So it just kind of triggered it. I was like, 'Okay, this is the right time to take a break. I am not going to shoot anything for six months. I am going to work on myself and just recalibrate." Looks like it was Kill Dil's failure that made Parineeti to begin her weight loss journey.
She also disclosed that during her break, she was busy setting home up a new home as well. "I thought this was the greatest thing - I'm going to work out and concentrate on my house," she said.
On the work front, Parineeti was last seen in Akshay Kumar's Kesari and will feature next in Prashant Singh's Jabariya Jodi, alongside Sidharth Malhotra. The film is slated to release on July 12.
