Rajkummar Rao and Mouni Roy will be recreating a Gujarati folk song, titled Odhani Odhu, for their upcoming film Made in China, a leading daily reports. Directed by Mikhil Musale, Made In China casts Rajkummar as a struggling Gujarati businessman, who moves to China so as to become a successful entrepreneur.
Speaking about the song, Mikhil told the daily, “Yes, Raj and Mouni are shooting for the song. We are still deciding on the singers and will mostly be shooting on a scratch version of the track.” The Made In China version of the song will be choreographed by Vijay Ganguly and will be filmed over three days at a studio in Mumbai.
Considering the fact that Raj and Mouni have been cast as a Gujarati couple in Made In China, sources from the set said that producer Dinesh Vijan wanted to include a song in the film that viewers will be able to connect with.
“The number has been recreated to appeal to the younger audience,” the source said.
Mouni Roy plays Rajkummar’s character’s wife in the film. Mikhil Musale is a Gujarati director while Made In China will mark his debut in Bollywood.
