'It has been a hard one year for him': Ranbir Kapoor opens up on father Rishi Kapoor's battle with cancer

Veteran actor is Rishi Kapoor is undergoing treatment for cancer in New York since September last year and his wife Neetu Kapoor has been living with him in the Big Apple since then. To everyone's delight, filmmaker Rahul Rawail had revealed early this month on social media that Rishi is now 'cancer-free' and it was confirmed by the actor himself, who stated, "My eighth month of treatment started on May 1 in the US. But God has been kind! I am in remission, meaning now I am cancer-free."

Now as Rishi undergoes more medical procedures in NYC before he returns to Mumbai, his son Ranbir Kapoor opened up on his father's battle with cancer. Speaking to a news agency at an event, Ranbir said, "He is doing much better and hopefully he should be back in a month or two. His spirits are up. He gets lots of positivity from you all. It has been a hard one year for him. His desire and only endeavour in life is to act in movies. So this one year sabbatical has been a little setback for him. But he is doing really well for himself."
