In a career spanning over 27 years, Bollywood actor Ajay Devgn has stayed away from doing bold scenes on celluloid, except for his own directorial venture Shivaay, which released in 2016. In a recent interview, Ajay revealed that he is not comfortable locking lips in films since he chooses scripts that are aimed at a family audience. "Most of the scripts I choose are aimed at a family audience. Given this, doing an on-screen kiss or showing intimacy beyond a certain limit doesn't work," explained the 50-year-old actor.
He added, "I like watching films with my family. I'm sure others too enjoy watching movies with their entire family. On-screen intimacy can therefore be uncomfortable especially if you are watching a movie with a child or a young adult. Or for that matter with an elder. So, I would best avoid smooching."
Apart from Ajay, Salman Khan has stayed away from doing intimate scenes in films and had recently stated, “I’m not for kissing and nudity in films at all.” Shah Rukh Khan was of the similar though process until he made exceptions with Katrina Kaif in Jab Tak Hai Jaan (2012) and Anushka Sharma in Jab Harry Met Sejal (2017).
Meanwhile, on the work front, Ajay will next be seen in De De Pyaar De, co-starring Rakul Preet Singh and Tabu. Directed by Akiv Ali, the film is slated hit the screens on May 17.
