'I have no issues with Akshay Kumar, don’t want him to feel bad,' says Laxmmi Bomb ex-director Raghava Lawrence

A day after actor Akshay Kumar unveiled the poster of his upcoming film, Laxmmi Bomb, director Raghava Lawrence walked out of the project. He made the announcement on social media stating that he was disrespected and disappointed by the team. The film is the Hindi remake of Tamil film, Muni 2: Kanchana which was also helmed by Raghava. The filmmaker revealed to a leading daily that he was very hurt when the first poster of the film was out without discussing with him.

A leading daily quoted him as, “How could they release the first look of my film without discussing it with me? As a director, that hurt me the most. There was no communication from their end. It made me feel like a fool, as if I [deserve] no respect and am not important at all. All I wanted was that they keep me updated rather than keep me in a blindspot.”

He refused to comment when asked if the makers tried to sort out things with him. However, Raghava made it clear that he has no hard feelings for Akshay. He said, “My lawyer will sort the matter out with the production house. But I have no issues with Akshay sir. I don't want him to feel bad as he has been preparing intensely for the character. That is the reason I am willing to give my script to them.”

The team is reportedly looking for a new director. Along with Akshay, the film also features Kiara Advani. The project is bankrolled by A Cape of Good Films and Fox Star Studios, in association with Shabinaa Entertainment & Tusshar Entertainment House. Laxmmi Bomb is all set to hit the screens on June 5, 2020.
