The dairy brand Amul is well-known for its topical ads that always have a hilarious and ‘punny’ take on the current ongoing issues. They have a way of playing around with words and come up with great catchphrases and punch lines that shower praise on the who’s who for their deed and also take a stand on issues of national importance. Amul's topical always gets a high-five from the Indian audience. However, this time around, Amul received a somewhat lukewarm response to their topical as they chose to applause only Deepika Padukone and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan for their Cannes 2019 appearance.
This year at the 72nd Cannes Film Festival there was a bevvy of Indian actresses walking the red carpet for either their film or endorsing some brand or being a part of the India Pavilion. Kangana Ranaut, Hina Khan, Priyanka Chopra, Sonam Kapoor, Huma Qureshi, Diana Penty, Deepika and Aishwarya were at Cannes 2019 bringing glory to the nation. However, when Amul’s topical chose to only applaud Deepika’s and Aishwarya’s looks at the red carpet which had garnered mixed reactions from the fashion police many questioned the dairy brand that why they did not feature the other actresses and took potshots at the company.

Check out some of the comments by the Twitterati who felt Amul was being unfair to the other actresses who were far better dressed and represented India as well.
Where's @priyankachopra she was one of the best things about Metgala and Cannes.
