Katrina Kaif who is making film promotions look as effortless as possible these days revealed how she and her Bharat director Ali Abbas Zafar did not have a very pleasant start. In fact, the actress was so annoyed at Ali when they first met on the sets of her 2009 film New York that she almost backed out of the film.
At a promotional event for Bharat, Katrina explained how “interesting” her joueny has been with Ali. The actress said, “We have a very interesting journey altogether. So, the first time I met Ali was on the sets of New York. New York was Kabir Khan's first film as a director and Ali was the first AD. And the first time I met Ali, I told my manager that I hate this boy and if he talks to me again I am going to tell Adi (Aditya Chopra - the producer) that I am leaving the set. Because I wanted to go back to Bombay for some promotion of Singh is King so I said just give me these two days and we were shooting in New York and Ali was talking to me very sternly that no, you cannot go to Bombay and I was like 'Kaun hai yeh aadmi, aise kaise baat kar raha hai mujhse' . So, I told my manager that this boy talks to me again and I am leaving the film.”
