The Internet went a little crazy today after mercurial Nepalese-American fashion designer Prabal Gurung posted a picture of himself and Karan Johar on Instagram and wickedly captioned it “Pyaar Kiya to Darna Kya” giving rise to widespread speculation that the two of them were dating and in a steady relationship.
Prabal is as notorious for his bizarre sense of humour as he is renowned for his eye-catching designer outfits that some of the world’s famous women including Michelle Obama, Oprah Winfrey, Demi Moore, Priyanka Chopra, Deepika Padukone and Isha Ambani are proud to wear.
The New York-based fashion wiz kid’s post sent social media in a tizzy. It came on the day when KJo coincidentally happened to be in New York too celebrating his 47th birthday. While stories flew fast and furious across the world on fashion and film websites, Karan himself good-naturedly cleared the air by commenting below Prabal’s picture, “Control yourself Bhaiya!”

PeepingMoon.com sources reveal that this was just Prabal’s mischievous way of wishing his famous Bollywood filmmaker friend for his birthday. And what the Nepalese-American designer is not saying is that he is in a happy and committed relationship for the last five years with “Paul”. The two were spotted together at Isha Ambani’s wedding in Mumbai recently.
Who is “Paul” is something that Prabal is not apparently comfortable disclosing. But PeepingMoon.com sources say that “Paul” was not among the celebrants at New York’s iconic and glam Boom Boom Room night club at the Standard Hotel where Prabal joined others in ringing in KJo’s birthday.
