Ajay Devgn's father Veeru Devgan, legendary action director, passed away today morning at his Mumbai residence due to prolonged illness. 

He has choreographed fight and action sequences for over 80 films. He also donned the hat of a director for the film - Hindustan Ki Kasam (1999) starring his son Ajay in the lead role. Veeru Devgan rarely attended events and parties and was seen at the screening of Total Dhamaal at a theatre in Santacruz, Mumbai.

Veeru Devgan had also acted in films like Kranti, Saurabh and Singhasan. Born into the Devgan family in Amritsar, Veeru Devgan was married to Veena Devgan and has four children with her, including the actor Ajay Devgn and director Anil Devgan.
